OK warning: this might be a bit gag-worthy for some.
A little while ago, I was changing a diaper and giving her a good wipe down when I noticed what looks like a skin tag sort of thing in her tiny butt hole. But, it also has the look of a blister. However, she is not sensitive to the touch of it and hasn't cried at all when I wipe her down there. I'm taking her to the doctor this afternoon because I'm slightly freaked out. Has anyone had this or seen this before?

Not on her butt, but K had a skin tag on her nipple, and her Dr just pinched it off! K didn't even flinch, but it kinda freaked me out

Did it look like it was flat skin or semi puss filled ...or who knows what I'm trying to describe here. Basically, it's not like a flat looking piece of excess skin.

E has skin tags on her leg....back of her knee, specifically. Flat skin, just skin.

Hm. I don't get it. I'm worried. This just surfaced within the last day and it looks like a slight blister and its right below her vaginal area right at the top of her butthole.

@Mrs. Bum: Yeah, hers was totally flat. It's a good thing you're going to get it looked at! Hopefully it's nothing serious

It's possible it's an abscess. My 3mo had a small abscess a few weeks ago that sounds similar to that description. It started out in a similar location looking like a whitehead pimple with a tiny bit of pus, then looked like a skin tag for about a day before going back to a pimple-like structure before healing. We had to give him warm baths a few times a day to help drain it, but it never seemed to bother him. In our case it was connected to a fistula we had to have repaired, but I don't think that's the case with most abscesses. Anyway, definitely a good idea to have it checked out and good luck!

my friend's little one had something she thought was a skin tag and apparently it is a hemmorhoid (sp?). can that develop in babies that are young? i'm not sure. but the dr gave her some cream to apply and said it wasn't a big deal.

Took lo into the doctor yesterday. They say it's a skin tag but haven't seen that type in that area of such a young one (it's seen in women as some get older). So they don't think it's anything to be too worried about. They're sending us to a pediatric surgeon just to be sure.
