This is just a vent, really. My poor 7 month old went to daycare just two half days last week and she now has the mother of all colds. It's 10pm here and she has been awake several times already, crying her heart out. I just don't know what to do to help her. She's so sad and it's breaking my heart.

Is this the first cold? Dd has only had four colds and I'm sure more are headed our way as she will start daycare right after she turns eighteen months. But the first one was the worst, she was in a state of shock. Nothing to do but wait. We usually start out in our own beds and then cosleep when dd has a cold. The first time she slept ok the second half of the night as long as she was touching one of us. Hope baby girl is better soon!

I feel ya. DD has been sick with a bad cough for 2 weeks and she wakes up several times a night crying. Its hard! Hang in there mama

Poor thing. LO and I are both sick with a cold too. She was up until 3am last night woke twice, and only slept till 6 am.... She's like so mad that her nose is stuffed.

@googly-eyes: No, it's her third cold but it's by far the worst she's ever reacted. So heartbreaking.

Is she feverish? I know you're not in the US but a common strategy over here is to give infant Tylenol (acetaminophen) to help the baby feel more comfortable and therefore sleep better too.

@Cherrybee: Poor baby Maybe Calpol would help if she's feeling achy and stuff? My LO won't tolerate the nose frieda at all so we usually just give her some medicine before bed to take the edge off when she has a cold.

Poor girl! Have you tried giving baby Tylenol or Motrin? Hope she gets better soon. We just ended a week with something like the flu. No fun.

Oh no hope your LO feels better soon. Our Christmas with our extended family was totally derailed with every baby 2 and under with colds. I know you are suppose to ride it out but Tylenol worked for us to help her get some sleep. We also have a humidifier and air purifier. DD get well faster than all of her little cousins. My DH is a lover of all gadgets.

Oh, I'm so sorry, our 8 month old just had his first cold and was miserable for at least a week. Things that helped us were infant Tylenol, Hyland's tiny cold tablets (and their cough syrup when necessary), saline spray, the snotsucker, boogie wipes, a cool Mist humidifier (the ones you can put Vicks inserts in are awesome), and Baby Vicks on his feet.
And wow, that was a long list. Not sure how many of those things they have there, but I hope she's feeling better soon!

Hugs mama. Having a sick baby is just no fun. I hope she's better soon.
We are going through our first big cold and I just feel so bad for him.
