I know this video is a bit old but I just saw it and wanted to share! This woman has apparently figured out the baby language and shows the five "words" that all babies make to try and communicate with us.
What do you think?

I've always loved her theory and have wanted to try it with my own baby! Thanks for reminding me of the video!

@.twist.: yeah it was cool to see it! I hope I can remember the signs when LO gets here

It does work for me. I noticed my son uses all of the 5 sounds and it is pretty accurate. I found out about her on youtube a few weeks back when my son was 5 weeks old. Now he is 10 weeks old and I still listen for 5 sounds he makes to meet his needs.

All of lo's cries sound the same and nothing like any of these. Then again, he's only 6 weeks - I'm not sure they get "unique" cries until a little later.

@VanillaBean: glad to hear it works for you!
@ladyfingers: supposedly it works for 0-3m but I understand it can be hard to distinguish these "pre cry" noises at first

@aprk: haha I wrote them in a note on my phone! LOL. It will definitely be interesting to see how well it works once our little guy is here!
@ladyfingers: She says that babies actually grow out of the noises if they're not being addressed. I don't think it's a bad thing, I think that's just kind of what happens. Or at least, in her opinion!

@APRK - You are correct, it took me a while to distinguish each sound. I had to listen very closely a few times before I was able to differential between the noises. I also enlisted my husband's help as his hearing was better than mine. hehehe

my baby used "neh" quite often...i heard the gas one sometimes, but the other cries i either didn't hear or she didn't do.

I'm pretty good at distinguishing the "neh" and "eh" sounds, but I haven't heard the "owh" sound yet, and I'm not as good at distinguishing the other ones. DS is still only 3 weeks, but its been helpful so far!
