@Navy_Mommy: OMG my husband has the same problem. When I mention a name, 9/10ths of the time, he says no b/c of a name in a TV show or movie. Names are so tough - boy names, in my opinion, are harder than girl names.

@Navy_Mommy: Haha, very true. We have a couple ideas for her name, but nothing solid. DH doesn't want to talk about it yet. I'm going to make him talk about it in the next 2 weeks because my family is throwing me a baby shower when I fly home at the beginning of December.
You could always use Rhett as a NN for Everett. Thats the only one I could think of.

Asher is a great name!
I wanted to come on and pipe up about a name that is a bit out there, so I'm not sure if you'll like it or not. A woman I know has a husband named Matrix. Your Maverick suggestion immediately reminded me of him. Also - Max and Avery seem similar to me. Just throwing it out there because, who knows?

What about Marshall or Forrest?
I also love the names Miles.
I know someone whose name is Everett and he goes by Ev.

@PitBulLover: I like all of those!
I also like Gunner/Gunnar. Very manly.

@Navy_Mommy: aw! I love Maverick. But I know what you mean with what people would say. People here know it's top gun, but I told myself that when it's time that my son goes to school... Top Gun will be a far far away.

When we were thinking of names we had :
Maverick (minus the E) , Liam, Miles, Ryan, Jaxson in mind.
What about Emerick? (in stead of Mavrick) it's pretty popular here in Quebec, so we didn't opt for that.
Names are tough! I feel your pain.

I like Clay, Seth, Andrew, Russell (Russ), Tate, and maybe a little "out there" with Greer
These won't work because of the "n" but I also like Ryan, Owen and Mason.

@Navy_Mommy: I've had a REALLY hard time with boy names too. Asher has always been one of my favorite names, ever since I was a teenager. We ended up choosing a different name, but I still love it so maybe if we have another boy someday.
I understand your concern, my last name ends in "N" and is a series of harder sounds (R, D ending in N).. so it was tough. I loved the name Boden but it sounded awful with our last name.
Some names from my list:
Wesley, Adler, Emmett, Liam, Finley, Abel, Asher, Beckett, Elias, Emery, Flynn, Gideon, Coby, Parker, Logan, Eitan, Jude, Paxton and Peyton.
It just took forever narrowing it down and ended up going with a name not even on our list

@miss-spunkin: Your list totally reminds me of mine!
Right now hubs and I are going back and forth between Asher and Wesley. It'll be easier to come to a decision once he gets back from deployment (next month...EEEEEK!)
