When did your LO begin mimicking words like ma-ma, da-da, ba-ba. My 6 month old just smiles and laughs when we get him to try to copy us. I just want to make sure he's not falling behind in the language department. (By the way, I freely admit I worry way too much and this could totally be one of those times...)

Babbling by 8-9 months is the outside edge of the milestone.

My LO has been saying daddadada since about 6 months. He added "doh" for dog around 8 months. No mama yet.

@mrs. jacks he definitely babbles but it's completely random. i just didn't know if he should be purposely trying to say certain sounds.

@littlek he is just 6 months today so i'm hoping he will soon catch on!

My LO said a whole bunch of consonant sounds around 6-7 months (ba, ga, ah, ma, na, ha, ya) but he never repeated them (although he would say ah-gah). He didn't start truly babbling until 10.5 months. I was told not to worry until 12 months.
