My son is due in March and my daughter will turn 2 in May. I did some light baby wearing (Ktan and ring sling) with DD, but I'm thinking I'll do more with DS since I'll have a toddler in tow. I'm starting to wonder about the best diaper bag for this scenario, though! If my toddler is in the stroller it won't matter, but she has and independent streak and likes to walk. Suggestions? Advice? Anyone else been there?

Backpack. It balances out some of the weight, you're not trying to hold it with one hand or keep it on one shoulder.

A backpack is great to be hands free and you will need both hands with two kids!

Backpack diaper bag. I got this one and like it so far for my potty trained toddler and a newborn.

So far (5 months in with LO2) I leav the diaper bag in the car, wear the baby, and put my phone in one jeans pocket and my id and credit card in the other.

I do a backpack for bigger adventures, or a cotton hobo style bag worn under my baby carrier. I just carry my regular mom purse with one hand/shoulder and have one hand free for my toddler most of the time. It all works fine. None of it is perfect.

I have no personal experience, but I'm really intrigued by the Boba diaper bags that attach to the 3g and 4g carriers.

I have a almost 5 month old who I baby wear all the time and a almost 3 year old who usually walks beside me and I use the Kipling Ravier Backpack! It's not a specific diaper bag backpack, I just use it as such. Fits everything I need! I also EBF so I don't need to carry bottles/formula.

Backpack. We also stuff a diaper, diposable changing pad (dental bib) and a small pack of wipes in the Ergo pocket if we feel we can travel lighter. Phone and credit card in my pocket.

Shoulder bag with cross body strap. Or I'd slip it under the shoulder strap of the carrier. Boba has a purse "clip" like those lingerie clips inside dress straps that keep your bra strap in place. I prefer to wear on my back so backpacks are not my bag of choice

@mrsrain: I just use a plain backpack from my college days. It's got three compartments and it works well!

I liked to use a crossbody bag. Now that they are older 3 and 16 months I just use a med size crossbody purse and I keep a diaper and small package of wipes in it.

I have an 8 week old and a two year old and baby wear a lot so I switched to a backpack diaper bag. I just use one I had (a Hershel). I have separate zip lock bags filled with things to organize (1 for baby clothes, 1 for big girl clothes, etc).

I have a regular backpack and I use a wine bag from Trader Joe's as a divider in it because it has six slots. Baby on a budget!
