I'm thinking about buying or making a personalized baby's first christmas ornament for a friend. Have you made one that you can post a picture to give inspiration, or do you have an etsy site or another place that you've bought one that you love?

When I was pregnant, I made one using one of those glass ball ornaments. I cut pink and "it's a girl" scrapbook paper into strips, rolled them up, and stuck them inside. I added a vinyl initial to it and a bow. Very simple but it's one of my favorite ornaments, and it'll always remind me of our first Christmas as a family of 3. I'm trying to think of something special to do this year as well for baby's first "real" Christmas....
It's not the best picture but here's the one I made last year

Hallmark releases special ornaments each year; you could do something like that and collect a new one each Christmas!

@zippylef: I love that! I love her little feetie pjs, that's adorable.
@jennylynn: that's so clever! And a great idea for any special ornament too - I'd imagine you could put just about anything in there (as far as scrapbook paper).

@sorrycharlie: Thanks! I don't remember where I found the idea at originally. Pinterest probably? I did one using our extra wedding invitations too.

Kohls has some adorable ones right now. And they're less than $10. I nearly bought 3 of them over the weekend, under the excuse of giving them to Hubs for his birthday, but then decided that was a little lame.

Hmm... I've thought about this, but I always theme my Christmas tree so I would have to pick something very neutral. Maybe I'll make a salt dough ornament!

@Arden: I'm actually going to make her a salt dough ornament making kit too. I'm putting the ingredients in a mason jar with instructions on how to make it, and I'm going to attach a cookie cutter and straw (to poke a hole).

@MaisyMay: I love Kohl's Christmas stuff!
@artbee: that's sweet! She'll love it I'm sure!

Even though LO will only be about a month and half old - DH and I plan making a trip up to Bronner's in Frankenmuth, MI to get some special ornaments for the holidays this year
We've gotten customized ones for our wedding, house, etc. and heck we're only an hour and half away from the BIGGEST CHRISTMAS STORE EVER!

A little of topic-I just stopped in Hallmark the other day and they have some ornaments out, but more will be coming out in October. They do have the book of all of them though.
