Did you get your LO a baby's first Christmas ornament? I've looked at Hallmark and the options are a little cheesy. I'm thinking of getting a Land of Nod ornament with name and year on it instead of an official first Christmas ornament. What direction did you go? Share pics if you have them!

I went with Etsy this year.
Instead of Nana, I used "The XYZ Family".
Last year I got a precious moments ornament.

last year i got a cute penguin family one from hallmark...after the holiday. i don't know if we got a baby's first christmas ornament. oops. anyway, LO proceeded to tear that penguin family apart. seriously he took out the baby first, then the mom and dad penguin. poor ripped-apart family.

I had a handprint ornament made for her first ornament last Christmas.

I had so much trouble finding a cute one back in 2012. We ended up going the hallmark route with a Pooh one that said baby's first Christmas on it. I really hope the options are better for 2015.

@lawbee11: Did you do it yourself? I had a kit like that that we tried this summer and it was a disaster. It took myself, both in-laws and my mom to get halfway decent prints. At the end we had a ridiculous Fatgers Day present and two pissed off babies!
@Radish: Yeah, I think the Hallmark ones I've found just aren't my style. A little too pink and blue baby carriage for my taste!

I got a personalized baby block from PBK. It's pretty cool - one side has the baby's name, another side is the birthdate, weight, length and the other side has the parents. The 4th side has two tiny footprints and the day of the week the baby was born. I LOVED it.

I need one for DD 2!
Dd 1's was a stained glass rocking horse that MIL handmade. If she was in better health I would've asked her to make DD 2 one.

@twodoghouse: I agree about the Hallmark options this year! For DS they had a nice ceramic rocking horse, but this year I don't like the options!

Only downside is that production is 3 weeks so it will be like, almost christmas before it gets here! But I figured I'd rather wait for what I really liked than go with something I didn't.

@twodoghouse: Got her a Lenox giraffe to symbolize Sophie, with the year and [still need to] have it personalized. We also had a couple of metal photo ornaments made with her newborn pics and year.

I am so happy for this thread. We always buy a new ornament each year, and this year we bought a little bird for our daughter (it's a nickname for her). BUTTTT, I didn't think to buy a 1st Christmas ornament until I saw this thread. I just went to Etsy and found this one.

I was wrong, she got three! Then we just got her the 2nd picture since she was really into books last December.
