Does anyone have any recommendations for a backpack carrier (preferably metal frame) that is good for hiking? We're talking like Redwood Forest type of hiking. Im looking at the Kokopax, but was wondering if anyone else has suggestions. Thanks!

I use a soft sided carrier (the Boba) and don't own a backpack style carrier, but I have heard great things from a few friends about the Kelty backpacks. One friend has the Kelty FC 3.0 and they really like it.

My husband got me a Deuter child pack for Christmas: http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10948256
Our baby isn't here yet so I have no reviews on it, yet. However, it is lightweight, not too bulky, and folds out for when you are done hiking/resting and the baby can continue to sit in it.

I used to have some cycling panniers made by Deuter, and I loved them. Great quality.
