We're headed to cape cod at the end of July and it'll be M's first beach vacation! Anyone have a beach tent / umbrella they love? I think it needs to be big enough for us to sit in there with her because she's not so big on the independent play. Also, at 9 months she's still eating EVERYTHING so I'm not so sure about a tent with a floor vs. being able to play in the sand. Thoughts? Recommendations?

It's actually quite big but you can't actually sit IN it with her. But I like that there are mesh sides and a curtain and UV treated. -

and we love it! its easy to carry and set up on the beach we can squeeze 4 beach chairs under it and the windows allow for a nice breeze to come through. Be got ours at BJs for like $50. -

Do you have a Costco near you? I have a tent like this: http://www.amazon.com/Push-instant-Beach-Tent-Sunshelter/dp/B002A966Z2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1373522509&sr=8-2&keywords=beach+tent and it is THE BEST! I was coveting that tent for 3 years and finally got it! I love how easy it is to set up!

We picked up a 10 x 10 canopy from Walmart and we love it. (I suggest putting it together at home and then storing it w/ the cover on to save you time when you get there). We bought some mats and big towels to put under it.

We got a baby tent and it hasn't worked out so well at the beach. She would rather be playing or sitting with us not in a tent.

We bring a canopy and put a beach blanket under it. It gives LO plenty of room to wander around and play, but still be in the shade.

we bought almost the exact same one as @regberadaisy posted and it worked out great! provided shade for LO and she napped in it. she could also play in it, but it was a little too small for all of us to get in.
