What is your bedtime routine? Especially for an infant. What do you do in what order?

@LindsayInNY: our bedtime routine has stayed pretty much the same since LO was a few months old. In this order: bath/lotion/brush teeth, new diaper, pjs/sleep sack, white noise, three books and sing twinkle twinkle a couple of times.

For LO #2, the current bedtime routine is tummy time, getting pjs on, diaper change, nursing/one bottle of formula, and then bed. We haven't added reading yet to his routine.

@cascademom: That's kinda us. I was trying to see when people do their final feed. We've been nursing when we get home from daycare around 7pm-ish and again just before bed (lately about 8:30ish). We want to add reading too.

From about 3 months till now 10 months we do
Book
Bath
Jammies and lotion massage
Boob(nurse)
Bed -
From like 6 weeks to now (18 months) we do:
Bath
Lotion
Jammie's
Bottle (WCM now, pumped BM until 1)
Sleeps sack on
Noise machine on
Kiss goodnight. -
Nurse downstairs
Undress upstairs
Change diaper
(Brush teeth)
Tell story (we often skip that if she's too tired)
Swaddle/Zip in ZippyThat's it. Works really well for our LO2.
With LO1 we nursed to sleep and I really didn't want to make that mistake again since we still have to be in the room with him at 2.5 when he goes to sleep.

Sometimes a trip to big bro's room for stories during nursing.

Put in rock and play -
Our daycare gives DS a bottle just before DH picks him up at 6, so we aren't feeding him when he gets home around 7 since he goes to bed anywhere from 7:30-8:30. Our routine goes:
Bath
Lotion
Diaper
Pajamas
-depending if he's not that tired we do 30 minutes of quiet play time or read if his mood allows it
white noise
bottle
sleep--he falls asleep for the night as he eats his bottle -
My daughter is almost 18 months old now but the routine has stated the same! Bath/blow dry hair/lotion/clean diaper/pjs/nurse/read a couple stories/brush teeth/into sleep sack/sing a couple songs and say good night to all her "friends"/lights out and into crib!
