Would you be? Under what circumstances?
I have a love/hate relationship with DH's ex girlfriend. She is super sweet and we have a lot in common. DH's family insists she is still in love with him and that is why she wants to be my friend--to have an "in" with his life. I don't agree with this as she is happily married.
Ditch it? Pursue something?

It makes sense you get along because DH probably likes similar type of girls, lol. 
Because of how your friendship started, I would feel kind of leery myself. If one of my old boyfriend's wives randomly added me on FB I would honestly feel a little creeped out. I probably wouldn't pursue that friendship, but that's just me.

@prettylizy: my DH has no problem with it. He has no desire to be her friend or invite her and her DH over for dinner to "double date", but he doesn't mind she and I being friends at all.

Hmm I dunno I think its kinda weird since they use to live together but if she is happily married and you guys get along, I don't see how a couple of play dates would hurt. I would keep her away from your hubby family though BC of how they feel.
How does your husband feel about it to?

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I wouldn't be her friend, if for no other reason you'll never be able to give yourself 100%. DH doesn't want to do double dates and stuff, his family doesn't like her, so it would almost feel like your friendship was a dirty little secret. Add on that the creepy stuff, it's just not something I would pursue.

I read before you edited (on my phone nursing!) but just got a chance to reply. I'd be a little weirded out, too, to be honest - though there's always the chance that she's innocent about it all. I don't know that she's the type bent on splitting up your party, so to speak, but all the other similarities are a little strange haha. I'd say stick with the acquaintance-type friendship for now and see how it all plays out.

Dh is friendly with one of my exs, and I'm friends with my exs wife. We were family friends and neighbors before we dated, so when we broke up we didn't have much of a choice but to remain friends and since we see eachother so often (holidays, parties, vacations, etc) our spouses are friends too.
So yes, I'd be friends with dhs ex depending on the circumstances.

I don't see any purpose of befriending (or knowing them really) DH's ex unless they still owned property or were business partners together or shared a child. Luckily, DH doesn't have any of these scenarios with his exes. He's moved, the women have moved on. End of story.
