DH and I were going to make R a latch board for Christmas. She will be 21 months. I am now wondering if we should do it sooner.
What age did LO really play with theirs?

We have a Melissa and Doug latch box (Same concept). She only now at age 2 can do a lot of the latches.

My mom just got one for M at 18 months. She likes to carry it around and open the little doors once the latches are open, but she can't do the latches yet. I bet 21 months would be a much better age.

We bought this M&D board when the kids were maybe 15 months:

We could play with it together, ie I helped a lot, when they first got it. Now at 20 months, they can do it all themselves and have all of the animals behind the doors memorized I like that it helps teach colors, numbers, and animals too so it's a multipurpose toy.

They have the Melissa and Doug latch boards at the library, and Sadie has shown interest in them for the past two months or so. She needs help, but she really likes them.
