Any good apps for kids - as in, for entertaining them when all else fails?

I would love to hear what some others have to say.
We have one - Monkey Lunch Box - it was $1.99 and you have to count fruit, pick out the biggest one, touch the fruit of a specific color, put together a fruit puzzle, matching game and there is a cute monkey that laughs and flips.
My big problem is that whenever we open an app for him, he just likes to hit the home key and it closes. -
@BabyBruins: I hate that! Or on the iPad he starts sliding away and then we are suddenly in my emails.
I like peekaboo barn but that's all I have.
