@SweetCaroline: I forgot about Educated!! Where the Crawdads Sing is next on my list. I'm guessing you would love Giver of Stars!

The ones I read this year that I really liked: Educated and Where The Crawdads Sing (along with everyone else), Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, Little Fires Everywhere, and Fates & Furies.

I read Fleishman is in Trouble and really liked it. I also read the Feather Thief which is non-fiction but reads more like a novel and is really excellent.

@crazydoglady: hmm, that's a tough call. I'd put all three of those book on the same level.

Crawdads was excellent. I went into it skeptical honestly because EVERYONE was raving about it, but it lived up the hype for me. I'd probably say Eleanor O next - what a story, it was so unexpected...

@KNS: I keep telling people that Fleischman is in Trouble is the middle aged book of our time.

@erinbaderin: I also really liked Daisy Jones. I read another one by the same author: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, which I also really enjoyed.

I hated Where the Crawdads Sing, but it looks like I'm alone in that one.

Loved Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.

@Spinny: I didn't hate Crawdads, but I was kind of meh about it.

Mine are The Great Believers, The Most Fun we Ever Had, Say Nothing, Mrs. Everything, Fleishman is in Trouble.

I can append Maid to my list. Maid and Educated were the top two amazing books I read, by far.

Just finished the Wife Between Us and adding it to my list. Couldn’t put it down!

I hit my all-time highest # of books read this year and so many of them were good! A few favorites (though I could go on):
