Both girls will need shoes in the next few months, unless I can get lucky and LO1's old shoes will fit LO2, but so far not looking like it! I want shoes that are easy for my 3 year old to put on herself, but that will stay on when running. I'm not into characters for shoes, I want good quality...shoes are an area where I want them to be decent. Also not looking to spend over $35 though...I was thinking maybe checking Target? Any other ideas?

We often do well at Amazon. I really like to get his foot sized at a local shoe store and will usually buy one pair there and then one (maybe a casual sneaker) from Amazon. So far, w have found good deals on Amazon and never spend more than $30 or so.

I usually get Nikes, Adidas, etc from Amazon, Nordstrom Rack or DSW.com. I usually spend in the low $20 range, but they're still decent shape when we have to move to the next size.

I third Amazon for sneakers - easy to buy several sizes, keep the ones that fit, and ship back the others. It's easy to find brands like Adidas for $25 or less.
Target's Genuine Kids by Oshkosh shoes are really nice for the price, but they only go up to size 5. I've heard good things about the dedicated Taeget line by Stride Rite, but personally have been "meh" about the styling of those, so I haven't tried them.
I've also found some very cute boots online at Walmart (not a favorite store, but it works for basics) - various Ugg knockoffs for $15 and under. They're easy to get on and get lots of compliments! Though they generally don't last for DD2 to wear them, they hold up well enough for a season and I'm not crushed if they get muddy/scuffed/painted on.

I like stride rite too. Usually they have a deal if you buy two- buy one get one half off or something. There is an outlet near me but i don't think the prices are really that different. And they can size it for you.
I really like the Umi shoes we have gotten from our local baby boutique but I only buy them on sale- end of season I can get them for about $35-40 but full price is more like $50-60.

Livie & Luca! Their Piyo shoes are beyond adorable, super sturdy, comfortable, and very easy for toddler/preschoolers to put on/take off alone. Although they're pricey, I find that sometimes I can find great deals on Amazon (usually for $30 shipped).
You can also check Facebook BST groups for gently used pairs. Another plus is that these hold their resell value pretty well, so you can sell them when your LO outgrows them and get at least a few bucks back

See Kai Run sneakers are my fave. She wears them every day to daycare and most days on the weekend, too. I got these high tops for around $22/each during an Amazon sale. There's also a SKR B/S/T group on Facebook that I've gotten good deals from.

Stride Rite SRT line are the highest quality shoes I have found. Search amazon and 6pm for deals!
ETA: we walk 2+ miles a day and she is extremely active, stride rite lasts longer than SKR for us.

I love See Kai Run but I only buy them on sale. We also have some from Target that I like. I make sure that it's easy to bend the soles because she hates stiff shoes.

If you can wait, all the shoe brands will have memorial sakes almost as good as black friday sales. I try to buy all the shoes for the next 6 months during those two sales.
We have some great stride ride boy's sneakers we are loving right now for DD1. She also has two pairs of Target boots anda couple pairs of Livie and Luca and SKR Mary Jane's. All of those are her every day shoes.
Eta: these are her current shoes, all bought on black friday week.They all have comfy soles.

I love Stride Rite - it's pretty much all my girls wear! They last forever, are easy to put on, and are super cute. I usually get them when they're on sale for around $30 or so and have yet to wear a pair out.

We like stride rite but it can be expensive! We have had good luck at Nordstrom rack for stride rite under $30 for solid sneakers.
Also when I do find a style I like of stride rite I will keep buying the next size on Amazon for a while since I already know they work. We had s bad early experience buying sight unseen so it feels like a good compromise!

We end up getting almost all his shoes at the Clark's outlet. He's got a hig instep so not all shoes fit great on him. I got some Target Stride Rite ones and the left angry red marks. The Clarks are usually around $15-20 each and they're always buy one get one 1/2 off.

Stride rite has that newish line at target. I've really liked them and they are half the cost of regular stride rite shoes.

I like Pediped. Kinderbliss website usually sells them at a discount, and then I wait for sales. I can usually get them for $22.

We've had good luck with Stride Rite and Skechers.
She has Saucony sneakers right now and they are CRAP. It took no time at all for them to fall apart, like 3-4 months. Ridiculous. She's had her Skechers for a year and a half.

We wear these 2 types of shoes to death. Little slip on vans from gap. They make a bunch of different designs, all the ones we have hold up well. And then these little baby fancy shoes. Zuma love them!! Or maybe I just love them haha.

We are big on Toms. I like that the soles are flexible and she can easily put them on and off herself. Her last pair, black glitter mary janes were on sale for 25.

She did have a pair of Nike from the sports store that had Velcro that worked very well. They were under $30

Also, love natives for the summer. I thought they were pricey for what they are, but they are definitely worth it. He wore them everyday all summer long. No rubbing blisters like the similar ON ones did to him. And extremely easy for him to put on by himself.

She wears Livie and Luca Petals all the time. They're super cute and very easy to play in. She also had a pair of Keens sneakers this Fall and Keens sandals this summer. Mostly, she wears the Petals. I will probably get a pair of Natives for this summer, too.

We're fans of Stride Rite for DS or any tennis shoe that has velcro straps. Slip on shoes like Sperry's is great too! They slip on easily, but stay on!
