DH's birthday and our anniversary are coming up. He still has a "dumb" phone and I've been wanting to get him an iPhone for a couple of years now. He didn't want me to spend the $, but now we have the baby, I think it's better for him to have one (pictures, video, music, facetime, apps, etc.) We're on my parent's family plan and I don't want to have to extend his contract. Where is the best place to buy him an iPhone 5 and still get warranty protection? We're in SoCal, if that matters.

@shopaholic: how much are you looking to spend? Why not a 4/4s? You'll have better luck getting a 4 refurbished ($50-$100) on Apple's site or through your provider. What provider are you?
eBay also but you'll pay out your nose bc most of those are jail broken.

@regberadaisy: I mentioned it to him before Xmas about getting him a 4, and he said "If I'm going to get one, I want the latest one!" so go figure! Verizon.
@autumnlove: My back-up is just through Apple too. Was wondering if any tech-savvy people knew of better deals.

I would try places that can sell Apple phones, Target (?), Best Buy, Walmart. Then you won't have to worry about extending the contract or anything and he can have the phone set up for his number at any retail outlet for your phone carrier.

DH & I are on a family plan together and we each have our own upgrade based on when our # was established and last upgrade.
My bro has a cell store and represents AT&T and Verizon. Let me know if you want me to ask him to look into it.
