I usually have invites/cards printed through the girl who makes them for me, but this time around for DS's first bday I'm thinking of getting a PDF from a seller on etsy and printing myself. where's the best place to print them?

I printed all my birthday stuff at Kinkos. Bought my own nice / fancy paper. Ended up costing like 80 cents per sheet?

We also print at the UPS Store. They have a great paper selection, I've always been happy with the prints (we use them for our home for women marketing material too), and they're cheaper than Office Max/Depot & I think even Kinkos.

We used Staples last time. It was fine, but more expensive than I expected.

I usually print invitations/announcements on my home printer. My STD/Wedding invites/Response cards I had printed at a local printer in town.
ETA: I have a $20 inkjet from 2006. When it finally dies, I'm probably going to upgrade to a nicer printer.

I print a lot of things using VistaPrint online. I have had good quality and great customer service experiences.
There is a groupon available right now for them, pay $17 for $70 worth of custom printing. I am about to snatch it up myself to use for my LO's birthday invitations

if you have a decent printer you can do it at home with nice card stock or water color paper cut down to size. otherwise staples/kinko's has pretty good quality, esp if it is just for invites :)!

I've been super happy with mPix. Very high quality, and about 80 cents a piece.

I've used VistaPrint online (with the "better" paper) for shower invitations and had great results.! They came with envelopes as well
