Southwest is having a crazy sale right now so we're thinking of booking a trip to visit my sister in Winston-Salem. The sale goes from late August through February ...... when would be the best time to visit? Fall or late winter?

Late September through mid November would be my pick. The weather cools off and humidity subsides around that time, and the fall leaves are really beautiful, especially in late October.
January and February it could be pretty cold, or there could be a few surprise 70 degree days in there, you just never know.

I'm right next door in Greensboro. I love fall in NC and highly suggest it. The leaves change and are just beautiful. Other than that, any time is good. We definitely have 4 seasons so just check the weather for your liking.

Never in the summer! NEVER.
Another vote for Fall! Our winters are basically a bit colder fall because we don't get snow. Summer is the worst, spring is nice!

Fall!! NC is a common trip in the Fall for us Floridians. We all go to see the leaves change, since there's no such thing here.
