My DD's birthday is coming up, and I know my family will want to give her toy/fun gifts, combined with Christmas soon after and I am seriously scratching my head! We have a ton from DS (Tegu blocks, wooden blocks, play kitchen with a ton of food/accessories). So I am wondering what is new and fun out there that I could put on her wish list?

My LO's favorite toys around that age were the Oball, Oball Shaker, Play Toy Pull Along Snail, and Squeeze Blocks (I know you said you have blocks already, but at that age the squeeze ones were the only ones she could stack well). And lots of board books! But you probably have a bunch of those already.

DD is a yr in December, she LOVES board books, balls, Little People Barnyard, and stacking cups/bowls
For her birthday we plan to get her, a ball pit and push cart stroller

We have a similar issue since we have 2 with a 3 year age gap and the younger one just plays with all the older one's old toys. I don't really see the need to give the younger one more when we already have so much. What about a membership to the zoo/children's museum or something like Gymboree instead of more toys?

So you have little people? The vehicles (car, airplane, school bus) are a big hit with my daughters, and the vehicles take up less room than the big sets. Although I do have to say, they loooove the house, and have since they were very young

Following :). He doesn't have many books so I'll do that. My parents will get him a rocking chair. He's really into ball racers and puzzle / figuring out toy type stuff so I might try to find something like that for him. Christmas is 2 weeks after his birthday as well. Gah

My LO has a November birthday and with Christmas so close, I always try to keep in mind what she will want to play with in the summer. So for her first birthday, we suggested (to people that asked) a ride on toy, outdoor toys, musical instruments, and summer clothes in the next size up.

Books or activity cubes/tables? If she's not quite walking yet, the Ybike is awesome! Especially if you have tile/hardwood floors. The rubber wheels keep the bike from running away from her. The bike starts as a walker, then flips around to be ridden on so it'll last her a lil while.

Books and a chair are big hits for LO2 in our house.
Crayola Color wonders markers so he can "color" like big sister without making a mess.
Extra ride on toys.
Swing set or small slide.
Musical instruments.

I def realize every kid is so different from this post.. DD is 11 mo and completely not into some of the stuff mentioned haha. She loves books but is picky about which ones; she never was really into stacking cups or blocks.. Right now she is too into exploring the house and playing with anything other than toys! The Ybike sounds fun! I might add that to her wishlist.
For her 1st birthday I am asking for stuffed animals, mega bloks and books.

Maybe experience gifts? Such as paying for swim lessons or a music class?

@lamariniere: our closest zoo/children's museum is 3 hours away or else I would LOVE do ask for passes etc!

@mrsrain: LOL - we already have a Newfoundland dog! I love or dog but I can't handle another dog! I might think of asking for a bounce house though! We already have a playhouse, cozy cruiser car etc, but that would be a fun gift for Christmas for the kids to share (and we could set it up in out heated garage when it is cold)
@PinkElephant: little people stuff is a good idea! We don't have much if that and DS las it at playgroup do they can play together.
