I only ever go through SWA, but what about travelocity?

I really like kayak.com, you can compare fares on the website and simultaneously run the same search on multiple other search engines (like orbitz, expedia, travelocity, etc.), so it does a lot of the work for you.

I use Orbitz to check all airlines but then I actually go to the airline's website to actually book. It's usually cheaper.

Oh, I've noticed the prices go up if I keep look at a specific leg of a trip. I wonder if they can track and increase prices based on how many people search it.

@bluestriped bee: some sites do track traffic via cookies so you should clear your cookies if you are searching a lot. I know this to be true because I once spent a morning searching for the cheapest flight and my original airline search turned out cheapest. When I went back to the site the price had increased and it had only been two hours! I was using Mozilla so I opened IE and the price went back to the original lower price. Now I know better.

I use Kayak to get an idea of the price range but the other day I searched separately on the American Airlines website and got a flight for way cheaper than Kayak. Go figure...
