@autumnlove: never heard that one!! But our kids are 22 months apart...

ha! haven't heard it either. mine are almost 21 months apart

No, I wouldn't say that out loud. It's rude. That being said, no way could I handle having kids less than 2 years apart... and realistically 3-4.... but that doesn't mean that I would think to judge those who do.

mine will be 16 months apart too... (i'm 6 days past due right now! ahhh....) i haven't heard anything like that yet, but we planned to have them this close, so i'm not sorry! hehe

People say this to me all the time because I am in my Ph.D program & I have an 11m old. They don't even know I am TTC or goodness, what would they say then??

@TurtleDoves: woahhh you rock momma! You're telling me that you have time for Ph.D coursework? And I was crying about two measly classes this semester...

@MrsLilybugg: I said in doing it, I didn't say I was doing it well hehe. I am part-time and I had no choice. My "leave" ended 6 weeks ago or else I would've waited awhile longer to go back

I agree, that's so rude! I'd be hard for me to not give the parent stinkeye the next time I saw them =P

@Mrs. Train: Yes, I've only heard it around my SIL who has twins. Such a mean thing to say, my mouth just drops open! Yes, her life is chaotic, but it's also fun, she's doubly blessed with those boys

I have a coworker that says it all the time, when I was pregnant, when I was nursing, every now and then just on random days.. haha
nectarine / 2063 posts
I get it all the time because of the twins. I find that people who tend to throw out those types of jabs aren't very happy with their lives or its completely innocent because they don't know what else to say.

That's rude. I got it when I cloth diapered and had to handle all that poop on my hands, washing machine, etc. -_- Whatevs!

My friend with twins gets this all the time, and I love her response - 'Oh, absolutely! I agree with you!' or 'Absolutely! I am just so blessed.' People don't know what to say to that so they shut up

@lemondrop: yes, I think twins bring out this comment a lot. I could write a book about all the crazy rude things people say. @grizz: that's how I usually respond. "I did tell one lady that she was right not all people could handle it with as much grace and dignity as I do and God must have known what he was doing." She caught me on a feisty day.

I think this but I don't say it. Well not directly to that person anyway.
I don't think my thinking it is insulting though. I genuinely mean that it IS better them than me. They probably handle it better than I would, and are happier for it than I would be. I'm now working all day with very young children, though, so that plays a part...
