Aside from the initial post-birth weight loss in the first two weeks, when did you lose the most weight? I read on either kellymom or LLLI that 3-6 months is the time bf moms typically lose the most weight.

I lost about 12 with the birth and then another 10 over the next year. Around 1 year postpartum I did a bootcamp thingy to lose weight, and was able to lose another 12 before getting pregnant again. LO didn't wean until 14 months, so I was BF during that entire time, though we did also supplement with formula.

I lost zero lbs while nursing...it was only after I finished pumping that I was able to really diet/workout to shed weight!

I've lost all but 3lbs of this pregnancy weight gain (23lbs) in this first month. I recall it being the same with my first however, I went in to this pregnancy heavier than I wanted/did with my first. I recall that when my first started solids at 6 months old, I started to gain back a bit and it was tougher from then on to maintain/keep down.

The most was right away but after 6 months, I dropped even more weight and was the skinniest I had been since high school.

I noticed weight falling off really quickly both times at like 7 Months pp. The longer I nursed, the more weight I would lose.

With LO1 I dropped almost all of it immediately. With LO2, 3 months, it seemed like the weight shifted post partum. My stomach was almost back to normal flatish (but droopier) a few weeks post partum. But my arms and legs have gotten bigger. I don't even fit into my maternity pants I thought my thighs got bigger with LO1 but I wasn't sure if it was perspective. This time I'm sure they are bigger than during pregnancy. I'm hoping this is BFing related and ends soon.

I lost most of it during the first 3 months. After that, maybe 5 more pounds and now at 5.5m PP I'm stuck at 5 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. It's not budging!

I voted the first option but I hunk I also lost weight when I went back to work at 5 m!

I lost most of it within the 1st 3 months but there are just 10 lbs that WON'T GO AWAY! DD is 9 mo and I'm still nursing.

It started to come off easily at 9 months! I didn't focus on weight loss to quickly, just busy bf-ing and it came off slowly but once I hit 9 months I lost all baby weight and am 10 lbs less than before I had lo.

i think it was halfway through the first year - I lost 20 pounds by then (looking back i should have been happy, but my goal was 40). That did also coincide with summer though and i was outside walking and moving about a lot more than in the winter. I gained it all back when i went back to work after a year Hoping to do things differently this time.

I can't totally remember but I didn't lose much from 6 weeks to 4 months post partum. I had 10 lbs that wouldn't quit. I lost a lot at 5/6 months post partum and was at pre preg weight by 6m and was under pre pregnancy weight by 7 months.

Most of the weight loss seemed gradual. I'm at 9 months post partum and below my pre-pregnancy weight (even below pregnancy #1). Most of the weight loss probably came off at the beginning and then it went down steadily from there.

My weight loss was slow and steady from the get go! I was one of the lucky ones that prolactin makes my body hold onto weight! I think I lost the most around the six month mark up to 9 months where I lost the last of it. I lost more after a year of bfimg around the 18 month mark and was under bfp wt.
This time I've plateaued at 13 lbs away from bfp weight. I'm 2 months pp and hoping I can shed it all by 4-6 months.

I lost no weight breastfeeding/pumping - i felt like i was still always hungry! After I stopped pumping and finally went back to the gym/weight watchers, I started to lose weight again. (and promptly got a bfp lol)

I was EPing but I was a couple lbs below my starting pregnancy weight at my 6 week PP appointment.

I gained 40 pounds and had lost 30 by my six-week checkup. After that, I lost weight slowly but steadily until I was 15-20 pounds under prepregnancy weight around a year postpartum.

I lost most of it right away- within the first two months. Lost another 5-8 lbs over the next several months, and held on to the last bit of weight. Was hoping to lose it when I weaned, but I got pregnant two weeks after weaning haha.

First month. I gained some back when I went back to work after LO 2.

I only lost about 10 pounds PP which was basically LO, the placenta and some water It stayed like that until LO was about 12 months old. I dropped about 5 pounds without doing anything. Then when I weaned I dropped about 10 more pounds... but it came back.

I held on to 10lbs for 2.5 years until I weaned, regardless of my activity levels during that time. I went from 2 pints of ice cream a week to riding my bike 50 miles a week in the TX summer, with only a 2-3lb fluctuation. My body shape changed, but not my weight! Until weaning, at which point I dropped the 10lbs in 10 days, like it just vanished.

I lost a ton of weight, like you said, in the first two weeks, but then I dropped another chunk randomly at 7 months PP. Right after I'd finally broken down and bought new pants!

I lost 20 the first month, then was stagnant for a month, then lost 10 more the third month PP (while dieting and exercising). I'm now 4 months PP with 17 lbs to lose and would LOVE if it would just melt off

I dropped all of my pre-preg weight by about 3.5 months, but I actually fell to 10 lbs below that around 10ish months pp, which was crazy. DS is nursing about 3-4x per day now at 19 months, and I'm closer to my original pp weight now.

0-6 mo was my peak time. I ended up going below my pre-pregnancy weight but gained a bit back as DD started solids.

8 months postpartum with LO #1. It was when we weaned. I just couldn't seem to get the pounds off while breastfeeding. It's the same thing now. I still have tons of weight right now at 3.5 months postpartum. I seriously don't fit into anything. I eat a lot but am trying to be better at it this time. When we wean, the weight will come off easier.

Ugh. I lost 20 of the 30lbs I gained by 2 months PP, and then was stuck there until I re-started birth control at 9 mos PP, when I gained 6lbs in a week. I'm now almost 11 months PP and am nursing morning and night and have just started actively trying to lose weight. I miss my pre-pregnancy clothes!
pomegranate / 3392 posts
I voted 9-12 months because I weighed the least when LO was about to turn 1. But really, it's been pretty steady for me. I bottomed out at 15 lbs below pre-pregnancy weight, but now that LO is 27 months and nursing a lot less, I'm holding steady at about 10 lbs below pre-pregnancy weight. Not going to lie, I'm really used to this, kind of hoping it's my new normal! Am I nuts??
