The title says it all... If you BF can you sleep on your belly??? I thought when LO started sttn that I might be able too, but I can't! It hurts.
I feel like I also read somewhere that you could get mastitis from the pressure, yikes!

I have become so used to not sleeping on my stomach that I don't anyway...

@matador84: how oldis your LO? I have noticed I can do it for a little while right after he eats, and if I fall aeep I wake up with sharp pains in my boobs! It goes away after turning

I've been able to since LO was around 8 months old, but before that it wasn't comfortable for me.

Thank god I'm a back sleeper! I would be afraid of leakage!

I do all the time and have been for a long time! I think there's only been 2-3 times I've leaked but I rarely get engorged or leak.

I definitely could not. Even if I was on my side for 10 minutes, I would get clogged ducts in the side that was closer to the bed. It was so annoying! I think it depends on your milk production, and I had somewhat of an oversupply issue.

I don't because I'm terrified of mastitis again. I got clogged ducts really easily until I started sleeping on my back. I had huge oversupply until I stopped pumping in addition to nursing!

I haven't slept on my stomach since the end of my first trimester, so October 2011. I miss it.

I get leaky bc H STTN and if on my tummy I wake up to wet blobs on my shirt...
I used to be a stomach sleeper pre-preg...And it still feels good except for leakage...And bc I sleep with my leg bent out to the side, it also made my hips sore the next day! I guess bc I didn't do it for so long! And also getting old!

Unfortunately, it hurts too much. I do a modified stomach sleep so that I'm not applying pressure to my chest,

I had been (LO 4 months!), but day four quitting BFing, there might not be a worse kind of torture.

@PrincessBaby: ha! I do this with my leg too and get sore hips - so sad! Haha.... I also have to sleep with breast pads, definitely leak a lot at night.
@Beebug: yikes!! Painful! Are you totally dried up now? It was just bad a few days right?
Thanks all!! Guess the stomach sleeping will have to wait a little longer....

I couldn't when she was still nursing a lot, but now that were down to 2x day I can.

I can do a modified version. Kind of halfsies. Baby A sleeps about 4.5 hours at the longest right now, so I don't get too engorged. I was so ready to start sleeping on my stomach after she was born and was a bit sad to see that wasn't going to happen!

@hellobeeboston: easing my way down, definitely not dried up, I don't think it'll be this fast? Expecting at least another week or two? We'll see how it goes!

Lo is 5 months and I can when falling asleep at night, since she's just eaten so my boobs aren't full, but after about midnight I don't even attempt it because it hurts with full boobs.

i can but i usually i sleep with LO so its just easier to sleep facing him.
