If you had a baby within the last year are you rocking a bikini this summer? I've lost all my weight and even though stomach is still kinda gross but I don't care and am going for it

I haven't worn a bathing suit yet this summer but I'll probably stick to a one piece I think. I've lost all the baby weight and look pretty much the same, but I'm still a little self conscious for some reason. It's also easier to have around my toddler and crawler with a one piece

haha, nope! But I didn't wear one before baby either and I'm no where near my pre-pregnancy weight.

Yeah! I will this summer and did last summer when my baby was 4 months old. My belly was squishy but whatever!

No but only because I'm so so pale and my stretch marks are still so so red. I don't mind them once they're faded but I'm not into sporting bright red ones. Also, this is the first year that I'm also chasing a toddler and a one piece holds all the boobage in far better than any bikini I've found. I'd like to prevent nip slips lol

Nope! I'm just not comfortable in a bikini and have been able to find some cute tankinis so that's what I'm going for!

I didn't the first summer after she was born- I wore either a tankini or bikini with a rash guard over it. (About a year postpartum and 20 less than pre prey weight).
Then this spring we went on vacation and I wore either a regular bikini or the rash guard over it- rash guard nicely keeps everything in place and makes applying sunscreen so much easier! But I'm glad I wore the bikini sometimes too!
Now I'm pregnant with my second and will be wearing a maternity rash guard for the most part. I don't have a top that I feel contains my pregnancy boobs well enough to play with a toddler anyway.

Yep! I wore one after DD was born in Feb - way easier to nurse in!!
persimmon / 1328 posts
I did last summer at 6 months pp - belly was all over the place but I could not care!

I've always worn bikinis, before during and after pregnancy!
I saved one pieces for my swims at the gym!
watermelon / 14467 posts
I probably will not. I've never been comfortable in them. I hate having to adjust my top around my boobs and I feel like I can't really move around in them.

I did after #1 - I had BOOBS!!! It was awesome
After #2 I haven't and she is 4. I stick with tankinis now

Nope! I'm loving my one piece and mock one piece (that looks like a tankini)
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
You go!
Yes, I'm rocking a bikini this weekend at 10.5 weeks postpartum. Just got my spray tan on today! I've worked super hard, done tons of hot yoga and running, and am really proud of where things are!

Absolutely! I may not have the same shape as I did before, but I'm not going to cover it up with a tankini or one-piece just because I'm a mom.

DD is 5 weeks old and I'll be heading to the pool in my bikini tomorrow and Saturday!

Yep! 11 months pp with faded stretch marks and a squishy stomach and still rocking the bikinis!!
honeydew / 7622 posts
Yup. I started at 3 months pp. I lost the weight, but nothing looks the same. I hope to be looking a little better by the time we go to Hawaii.

Not for me. Yikes! I have some diastasis hanging on from pregnancy so I still look a little pregnant, lol. Although part of that is also the forty bazillion calories I'm eating a day to pump enough milk for DD....

Hells no. I doubt I'll ever wear a bikini again. But mostly just because I feel really exposed while playing with my kid. I play hard with him, and just prefer everything covered and held in. I commend those who still wear a bikini!
eggplant / 11287 posts
Heck yes! I wore a bikini the summer after I gave birth in May (as early as 5 weeks pp), as well as the summer after I gave birth in November.
pomelo / 5628 posts
I did for the first two years but I think I'm retiring it this year. It allows me to think about how I look less which I've been trying really hard to do.

I'll be rocking the bikini this weekend at the lake, 4 mo PP. The hardest part was finding one to fit the breastfeeding boobs! Holy cow. No dairy/soy diet I've been on for LO has sped up the weight loss, whether I liked it or not.

No bikinis since I had a baby almost 3 years ago. I wear swim dresses now and LOVE them. I can chase my toddler around on the deck and take care of her in the pool without worrying about a nip slip. Swim dresses for lyfe, yo!

I rocked my bikini 4 mo PP. My knockers were huge and I looked great, baby or not. I'm pregnant again this summer (going on 31 weeks) and am still wearing my bikini... No shame in my game!
nectarine / 2878 posts
YEP! I've worked really hard after baby #2 to be happy with my body. I am not happy with every part but I am gaining my confidence back and even in a bikini, I still play hard with my boys
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: I wore one the summer after my first too (may baby!) by August. Tummy hasn't bounced back as quickly this time but IDGAF.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mrsrugbee: I'm sort of still in porn star boob land. Oh well!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
I did last year, but T is 7 weeks old, so no. Not this summer I have 30 pounds to lose
apricot / 358 posts
Yes, but I had my son in October, so I had about 8 months to lose baby weight before getting back into a bikini. I was still about 12 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight, but I was also rocking nursing boobs, so I felt pretty well proportioned. I'm currently wearing a bikini while pregnant, but we'll see how much my body bounces back after #2! I feel like you need pretty generous breasts to fill out a one piece, which is only true for me while nursing. Swimming is great, but it's so hard to avoid internal drama when it comes to bathing suits, isn't it?

I did the summer after DS but he was an August baby so I had 9 months to get back in shape. I did not after DD who was born March 28 last year. I'm wearing one again this year some now that she's 15 mo but honestly feel more comfortable in a one piece chasing two young kiddos around!
pomegranate / 3904 posts
I feel like most tankinis and one pieces emphasize my belly more, so I will probably rock a two piece. We mostly swim in our own pool though, so no need to be self conscious.
bananas / 9118 posts
No, but I didn't wear them before kids either. Maybe one day I'll be in shape enough?
