Just give them a little time- don't wear your new pair for hours on end or you will be in pain. I start by wearing them (preferably on a hot/humid day) around the house for maybe an hour. Increase it after a few days. Should be good to go within a week or 10 days....even in the spring when I first break them out i get a bit of leg/foot pain, but once I adjust they are amazing.

I was recently looking into them too... Being pregnant my mom didn't want me to walk around in my normal flat, non supportive sandals. But I'm only 5 ft and I always feel like they would look too chunky on me! DH has a pair though and he lives in them!

I love them but mainly wear them around the house.

I have a pair of Gizehs and a pair of clogs. They are crazy comfortable.

@looch: what type of Mephistos do you have? They look like they have a little thicker sole to them, which seems like it would be nice.

I think Gizehs and Kairo (esp the braided version) are probably my favorite Birks . . . it took me a long time to get passed the sock/sandal mental image I would immediately think of when someone said *Birkenstock.*

My 2nd and 3rd toes are longer than my big toe, I have tried every style of them, and doesn't work for weirdo footed people like me. Booo, as I have always wanted a pair.

The ladies on here have got me wanting a pair of Gizehs. I haven't had a pair of Birkenstocks since jr.hs, but I loved them. They were so comfy! But I'm not sure how practical sandals are for me because on days when I want to wear them, there's bugs out. Mosquito bites on toes are the absolute worst!

Yup! I wear my Mayari's daily for work. I got them last summer and will wear them daily.

I never gave Birkenstocks a second thought until recently. I saw some really cute outfits with them on Pinterest (of course!) and decided I need a pair of Gizehs least The look like a good blend of flip flop and the comfort of Birks.

The biggest of yays!

Gizehs are on my feet at this very moment (and most other moments during the summer ).

@MsLipGloss: If my legs looked like that I would totally rock the Berks! LOL! Wishful thinking...

I equate Birks as being hippie shoes. Not my style.

I once had a pair with the toe posts and they were really uncomfortable.
