I'm going to order some birth announcements this weekend. I also need to send some thank you cards to a few friends....have you ever mailed an announcement and thank you card in the same envelope? Or should I just mail them separately?

I've wondered this before, too. I just ended up sending them separately since it just happened one time for one person. But if I had a bunch, I think I'd send them together. Why pay 2x as much for postage if you don't have to? That's my thinking.
ETA: you could also order announcements that have some space on the back to write your thank you note, so you don't have to buy two different cards. I think I did this once, too, because our announcements had some white space on the back.

If it were at the same time, sure! But I usually send TY cards immediately so I don't forget or lose them.
