I started birth control pills a couple of cycles ago and I admit there has been stress and I did forget a pill one day. However, I'm curious if you take the pill how long did it take to regulate your cycle when taken correctly? I was on the pill way back in the day but I can't remember how long it took.

Orth Tricyclen after a month. The mini pill didn't regulate my cycles.

@Bao: I sure don't. I used ortho tricyclen for years. Don't even remember what I take now.

When i was on it, I think right away. I took Loestrin FE 24. I was having multiple periods a month, so that's why I went on (this is all pre kids; I haven't been on the pill since TTC #1).

I had really irregular cycles and endo, and when I was on the pill it regulated my cycles immediately. If I had any break thru bleeding then my obgyn would put me on a different pill/higher dose. (TMI-but I would occasionally bleed after sex and she said that wasn't a big deal.) As soon as I stopped taking them tho my cycles went back crazy.

I have PCOS and long cycles but the pill regulates them right away.
