How often does your LO get invited to birthday parties for school or daycare friends?
LO is in preschool and hasn't been invited to a party at all, I'm not sure if it's as much of a thing at this age though. I'm curious when this really starts...maybe age 5? There haven't been any playdates either! It doesn't seem like anyone else gets together for parties/playdates though either, no one really chats too much...just small talk.

DD1 is 3.5 and has been in daycare since she was an infant. We have only been invited to one so far. We are having our first friend (4th) party this year so maybe we start seeing more now?

We weren't invited to daycare parties until kids started turning 4. We've only been to a handful of them.

From daycare, I'd say about 6 parties a year for DD (from when she was 2, and now she is almost 3.5).
DS is almost 2 and hasn't been invited to any daycare kid parties. He's newer to the class so not sure if it is the timing of things, or if they are not having as many 2 year old bday parties. We don't know the parents as well in this class, in comparison to DD's preschool class. He has gotten a couple goodie bags though. I think that is what we will do for when he turns 2 (no party, just favors/books).

I think it can depend on the parents in the class. DD1 has always been in classes with really social parents so we've gotten a ton of invites for her but not DD2 because the parents of her classmates have been a lot more introverted. But I suppose I've made more of an effort with DD1's classmates, too. DD2 has mostly just been along for the ride and gets party/playdate invites by default!

Our LO is 2 and we have only been invited to one so far (and it was for a child who doesn't have any extended family around here).

We had 7 the first half of the year, but it's an unusual class set up (mostly kids with Oct-Dec birthdays).

SO MANY. 9 since October and two of those were parties where two kids did a joint party.

Out of 12 kids at the in home daycare we were invited to about 7 parties this year 2 & 3 year olds. Last year there were none (or we weren't invited).

M just started preschool and got her first party invite. It's for a 3rd bday and one of the first bdays of the year for the class so I suspect they'll be more as the year goes on.

No parties yet - I have a feeling we will be the first ones next month. It was the same last year. We were the first ones in February, then there were a flurry of parties from March - Aug.
Maybe we have lots of spring babies??

LO just started school September last year. We were invited to one party for a classmate but she is one of the younger kids so I think LO will get more invites as her classmates start turning 4.

She started preschool in September and we have not been invited to any parties or play dates yet. We actually chat with the other parents quite a bit. Maybe I should make the first move?
DD's birthday is in June, well after school gets out and I think she would love to have a friend or two come over to swim for a "friends party".

The bday invites started at age 3! We have two 4th bday parties this weekend.
@Andrea: yep! I need to put in more effort with the parents in LO 2's class!
