We had DD1's 1st birthday at our house, but her 2nd and 3rd are out of the house. It's just easier to have it away from the house and not have to worry about cleaning up or wrangling a bunch of wild kids.

Same - had C's first birthday at our house but her 2nd and 3rd birthday at a play space and and I loved not having to do so much set up and clean up at home.

We're at about 50/50 right now. 1st and 2nd year parties at home. Out of the home for 3 years and up.

I've been trying to come up with where to do M's first birthday party. I'd like to do it at home but DH doesn't think we have space. It's tricky cause his bday is the week of spring break and Easter, so lots of places are booked.

Her 1st birthday we had at our house, but honestly it was too cramped. By her next birthday we will be in a bigger place, but I still think we'll consider having it out of the house.

Her recent party (3 years old) was at our house, and it was huge, and it took literally days to clean up after. Next year will be at a park, or some fun party alternative.
