I am going to a 1 year old's birthday party in a few weeks. She is the daughter of a former coworker and I haven't seen her since she was 7 months old or so. I already got them a Bum Genius diaper since I know they are doing cloth but I want to get a fun toy or other present. Any suggestions?

Books are always a good choice, especially ones with bright colors and/or things to touch and feel. My 14 month old son has been loving balls for the past several weeks. A couple people gave him cute plate, bowl, cup, fork and spoon sets for his first birthday, which I thought was a good idea.

Most of the Fisher price laugh and learn toys and toys by Melissa and Doug and Hape are probably a safe choice as well.

I posted this a few days ago which has some good ideas. We ended up getting a Little People set but my LO has the tea set in this thread too and she still loves it at 2.5 years old!

I gave LO hape musical toys that she loved and under the nile fruit and veggies.

Is she walking yet? I just went to a 1 yo girls bday party and asked her mom what she wanted and she said she loved pushing a little dolly stroller around daycare so thats what I got her.
