Anyone else have a LO that bites their crib?
He is scraping the finish off the wood! What a stink! Did you just chalk this up as a phase, or did you buy a cover of some sort for the crib rails?

I caught DD gnawing on the crib this weekend. Her molars are all coming in now otherwise she doesn't normally gnaw on the crib rails.

These look easy to make

I didn't buy a cover (she would just take it off!) and she still bites the top part when she is bored.

I considered a cover but she didn't do it a lot so I didn't bother.

Mine did. It was more during her CIO fits than because of teething. I didn't cover mine, but my mom covered hers with a DIY fabric one.

@Smurfette: That looks pretty easy, I may try something like that this weekend!
He just figured out how to stand in his crib, and he throws his pacifier out now on purpose. So I guess biting wood is the next best thing?? I haven't actually caught him doing it, but the evidence is there for sure!

We did exactly what @Smurfette: posted. I think she would have stopped on her own but she was getting big splinters off so I was worried. The fleece helped!

She did a couple times, but as stopped. Gave me a scare when I first saw the dark finish around her mouth...I was so worried it was well...poop. thankfully it wasn't!

This JUST happened to us today. She gnawed a big patch of the finish right off! I have a towel wrapped around for the time being, but might have to look into a cover.

So i had no idea this was a thing, when i purchased my crib from PB it had a "teething rail" a protective teething guard on the top rail for kids that bite the rail! little monsters

@Pepper: R has been doing this for a while! I might get a plastic cover but I'm afraid she'll just rip it off. Our crib looks a wreck.

I used an "old" crib bumper along her rails! she was ruining the wood, haha.

We did a cover and he eventually stopped but not after slobbering all over the cover.

@Smurfette: I made one like this! I think it prevented her from being able to bite the rail from the get go.
LO ended up vomiting on it and I cut it off and threw it out, but it was less than $10 to make.
