If you have them and love them - where did you get them and what did you spend? Bonus points for pictures. I'm looking for both kids rooms and the master bedroom. Thanks!

We got black out rolling solar shades from blinds.com. We had an odd shaped window that the sun blasted every afternoon so we needed something that would keep the heat out. They were reasonably priced for custom shades & they roll up behind a valance when not in use!

I got the eclipse brand at target for ds1. But we have blackout blinds underneath them that do the majority of light blockage.
I bought ds2's at Meijers, same thing in addition to blackout blinds.

Do you have a sewing machine? I didn't like any of the blackout curtains I could find ready made (and they were $$$), so I just bought the blackout liner fabric, cut it to size and sewed the top edge to our existing curtains right where the seam is, a couple inches down from the top.

@cmomma17: They are ok. We got navy blue because the reviews said that the darker colors work best. They don't look amazing but they do block the light. I thought they were decent for the price.

I'm told the quality of the blackout material on curtains you buy isn't that good and that the material at fabric stores are better.
I did pick fabric for my nursery and got my aunt to sew the fabric to the blackout liner.
The blackout liner was $6.99 per yard and with a 40% off coupon, the liner cost me $25 for two panel curtain. My fabric was on sale, as well, so I paid about $50 for my custom blackout curtains.

@catlady: thanks!
Looks like I need to research DIY options. I do have a sewing machine.

@cmomma17: I got these for D's room; they were recommended by my sister. https://www.halfpricedrapes.com/solid-blackout-curtains.html I got them in the Newport Blue, so they're not a super dark color, but they do an AWESOME job of blocking out the light. And definitely one of the best prices I found. I plan to get another set for Babygirl's room.
ETA: The fabric is super soft and drapes beautifully. They hung perfectly right out of the package.
