We currently have blinds on our nursery window (there's just one in the room). I have a valence I'll be putting up on top of the window. Do we need curtains, as well?
Were curtains necessities in your nursery?

I don't think you need them. We have ugly blackout blinds, so we have pretty curtains over them.

We have blinds in the room that will become the nursery. I will probably add curtains but only for look, not for function. They will probably stay pulled back most of the time.

I'm planning on blackout blinds with a valance.
@artbee:
where did you get yours?

We have blackout blinds and there's valances for curtains that I will most likely add, just for aesthetic purposes. (If I don't get lazy).

I'll probably have both - the nursery window faces west, so it will get a lot of late afternoon/early evening light making it tough to get the room dark for naps/night time. If it faced east, I probably wouldn't care as much.

We have wooden blinds in the baby's room (already were there). We're putting curtains up too - the room is a tan color and furniture is brown and we wanted curtains to break up the colors.

had both in charlie's room to make the window look nicer. in olive's room we only have blackout curtains, though the blackout shades did a better job of blocking light than the curtains.

We already have nice wooden blinds in her one window so we are just adding the valence that matches her bedding. We don't have curtains in any of our other windows so I figured we would just keep the blinds

We have both. The curtains are just for looks though!

Yes, because they're blackout curtains. We can't install blinds in these type of windows, so we had no other option.

We have blackout curtains as well. I don't think it makes a difference in the early months, but it definitely helps LO settle down and sleep for naps and at night.
