Dh and I are struggling with how to handle E's tantrums/crying fits. Last night, I wouldn't keep the faucet running in the bathtub (her tub was full), so she buried her face in her hands and cried hysterically. It's either everything or nothing that upsets her. I know toddlers are like this but we don't know when to ignore the behavior (if she throws herself on the ground, I tend to walk away and it stops) and when to soothe her (sometimes all she wants is a hug) and address the topic. And she isn't verbal at all (at 16 months) so she does a lot of pointing and grunting and whining before i finally pull out the ONE item she wants out of, say, the fridge. I'm trying to teach her signs, but she hasn't picked up on them yet.

I know she's overwhelmed with all the feels and DH offered to read a book on it while on travel next week...please recommend something! I read all these books on baby behavior and felt like I understood when she was doing something and WHY and now that she's 16 months and into the toddler stages, I really have no clue what's going on with her!
