Spinning this off of the other thread on how to find books, what are your latest and greatest recommendations? I am trying to compile a list for 2022.
My three favorites from 2021 were: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, People We Meet On Vacation, and Ready Player One.

I loved The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue! Definitely my fav book this year. I also liked Oona Out of Order, Project Hail Mary, Midnight Library and Malibu Rising.

@Aria: We have similar taste, those are all on my "to read" list except for midnight library. I read it last year and enjoyed it a lot.

My favourite books of last year: Maybe in Another Life, the Rose Code, Bourdain: the Definitive Oral Biography, Lady Sunshine, the Secret Keeper of Jaipur, Yearbook, Between Two Kingdoms, the Four Winds, and Boyfriend Material.

Addie LaRue for sure, if you read other fantasy like that then I also loved Sisters of Sword and Song and the City of Brass series. Those first two authors (VE Schwab and Rebecca Ross) have new books coming out this spring as well.
I also just read Cloud Cuckoo Land and wasn’t sure about it at first but ended up loving it.

I love these lists! My favorites from last year were:
Mrs Everything, The Most Fun We Ever Had, You Should Talk to Someone, and the Tatooist of Auschwitz. I also read through the Bridgerton series was some good fluffy reading. I’m on Book 3 of the Court of Thorns and Roses series. I didn’t care much for book 1, but book 2 was fantastic!

I just finished We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter. It's a book about a Jewish family in Poland during World War 2. Best book I've ever read in my life. It's one of those books that is so captivating that it makes you feel like you ARE the characters, so when you're done you feel like you've just run a marathon or been through something super traumatizing. Highly recommend, for sure!

For those of you who are Kristin Hannah fans - I've read The Nightingale, which was AMAZING, and The Winter Garden, which I thought was pretty good, but very slow in the first half. Which should I read next?? I'm seeing The Four Winds recommended a lot...any others?

@bhbee: I'm glad you ended up loving Cloud Cuckoo Land. I asked for it for the holidays, without knowing anything about it, just because I loved All the Light We Cannot See so Much. I looked it over the other day and really wasn't sure what to make of the outline of the plot on the book jacket. I'll have to give it a try.

@Chuckles: I recently finished it too, and I agree that I wasn’t sure about it and it was slow to get going but I ended up - actually, honestly, I’m not sure I liked it, but it was clearly a good book, I just think I wasn’t in the right mental place for it - Christmas, pandemic bummed, I think I was in a place where I needed something light. It was definitely very interesting.
