How do you want to store them, spine out or cover out?
My system is totally inefficeint, they're all tossed in a basket at the moment. I am thinking of getting something from One Step Ahead, but I can't find it now, GRRRRR. It was a rotating bookshelf that could also function as an end table.

@looch: Mine aren't stored well either. They're in a plastic bin. When we work on our nursery, I expect to have my FIL and dad build bookshelves that attach to the walls. Not permanent but sturdy. Little man is a climber.

I currently use an ikea cube shelf, but I wish I had something like this:

I found it at: http://www.woodentoddlertoys.com/newwapolibyw.html. At $539, it's pretty expensive!!!

We use picture ledges that we made....like this:
They used to be in her room when we lived in our small apartment but now they are in the playroom since we have more space in our house, but still a good space saver!
ETA: sorry the quality of that pic is horrible

I have the PBK Madison tall book rack in white. You do have to put it together yourself, but it's very solid. It doesn't hold a ton of books, but I love that they're easy to see and it doesn't take up much room. It's not too pricey - $150 regularly. I got mine when it was 20% off.

@Bao: that's so organized and pretty! I'd love to do that but I don't think I could maintain it.

I think the ikea spice racks look super cute, they're also definitely a shallow profile and inexpensive.

We have three IKEA picture ledges on the wall for his hardback/"pretty" books and then the rest of his books are stored in the Expedit (4x2 on its side so it's 4 across and 2 down).
