Looking for book recommendations for first time parents. Specifically books that are "how to" for the first year. I've NEVER been around babies, never changed a diaper, never even held a baby for longer than a few minutes so I'm really starting from zero. DH is in the same boat.

Baby 411 got us through the first year! I think every health question and poop/sleep/feeding/sickness concern was addressed without me having to call the doc about something silly or ask google.

I liked 'Your Baby's First Year- week by week'- it goes through every week for a year and gives you information about anything you might experience through that time.

I recommend Happiest Baby on the Block. This was recommended to us by several other parents and we couldn't have lived without it when we were trying to get LO to sleep those first few months.

I ordered Baby 411 from my hospital bed 1 day PP when I realized I had no idea what to do with a baby (she had just been born 4 weeks early, I was behind). I think I referred to it every day for the first 6 months and every other day after that. Love!
