LO loves any book that's a touch and feel for different textures. Right now I just buy a lot of books in the dollar section at target- that way if she tears them up or eats them up it's no big deal.

My parents read us all the classics...Eric Carle, Sandra Boynton, Dr. Seuss, Jan Brett, Maurice Sendak, Roald Dahl, Golden Books, Angelina Ballerina, Madeline, Chrysanthemum, Curious George, Berenstain Bears, Goodnight Moon, etc.

I LOVED "Papa, Please Get the Moon For Me," and "The House That Had Enough." Also, anything that was based on a fairytale and had pretty illustrations was a winner with me!

Current favorites include Mo Willems (Elephant & Piggie books, There Is a Bird on Your Head!) and Anna Dewdney's Llama Llama books (which also have a clever iPad app).

Two books I've bought for my nephew are Stuck by Oliver Jeffers and A Bit Lost by Chris Haughton, both of which he enjoys.
