I’m 43 and starting to dislike my frown lines between by eyes. Does anyone here have any Botox experience?

Following because I was thinking about posting this same question here! A few of my friends have started to get botox and my husband is VERY against this so I don't think it will be in the cards for me because it's probably not a hill I want to die on (yet) but I am pretty jealous of their smooth foreheads.

@LadyDi: I could have posted the exact same thing! My cousin in her 20s and all of her friend already have faces frozen in time. It's a ton of upkeep and I can't imagine have to do all of that for decades. But I'm also worried that I'm going to really regret not doing something more once I get into my 40s. That being said, my husband is against it and also wants me to age gracefully. I'm choosing to invest in creams and facials. And just praying I do, in fact, age gracefully.

I have a friend who loves the results (she’s 42) - definitely do your research and get word of mouth for a great person who won’t make you look too fake. She did her forehead and between her eyebrows I think. I just don’t know if I can handle the upkeep though.

I have lots of friends who go, I will probably go at some point but am a little scared... Our 20-something nanny and all of her friends already go preventatively!

@bhbee: @bhbee: It does seem like a ton of upkeep...I can barely make an appointment to get my hair cut twice a year.

I get Botox in my forehead. It is not a lot of upkeep - at all. It’s a 10 minute appointment 4 times a year. It has totally erased a line I had that was getting deep. Read reviews and find someone you trust

I had my first Botox in July at 41 and again a couple months ago at 42. I love the results. I did my forehead, upper lip, and jaw (to manage TMJ issues). The derm I go to recommended using a prescription strength retinol while the muscles were weakened to help promote skin turnover and my skin has never looked better.

@LadyDi: I pay about $8 a unit and get 15 units. Not too bad at all!

I get Botox about every 6 months. I pay about $12/unit (cost varies greatly depending on where you are located). I typically get around 40 units each time. I do my 11s (between my brows) crows feet, jaw for teeth grinding and a tiny bit for a gummy smile/lip flip. My gummy smile is minimal so I don’t get a lot there.
I’ve been going for about 5 years and I’m very happy with the results. I don’t feel like my face is super frozen at all.
