How old was your lo the first time you took them bowling? How did that go...? We are trying to find something to do this weekend that is indoors but fun for younger kids (2 3.5 year olds).

We just started last year, my son was 4. At our local lanes, they have the automatic bumper things that come up in the gutters, really light balls and ramps to roll the balls off of. They can wear their regular sneakers, too, so it's a lot of fun. My son can bowl 2 full games now.

She was just about 3 when we took her for the first time. She had a ton of fun!!! We went again this summer and the alley we were at had those dinosaur rolling things and the kids loved those. I would say one game max for that age group. Towards the end she was losing interest.

DS was a few months shy of turning 2 when we took him to the bowling alley. We got him the ball ramp and put up the bumpers. We'd put a 6lb ball on the ramp and let him push it down. He loved it! And would patiently wait his turn while DH and I bowled.

DD was 3.5 and DS was 6 - both loved it
Ours didn't have ramps but did have the gutter bumpers

My son was invited to a birthday party when he was 2 where all the kids were bowling. It was at a special kid's activity center that had mini bowling, so the lanes weren't as wide or long as they normally are. My son loved it! I'm sure he would like regular bowling too, but that would be more challenging for him.

DS was 2.5 when he first went bowling with his cousins. Our alley had automated bumpers, a ramp and a light ball for him to use. He loved pushing the ball and getting "strikes."
