We just found out we're expecting a second boy! I had a girl name all ready to go but we struggled naming our first son and I don't love anything we've thought of so far. I like names that are traditional and recognizable but not super common. Our first is a M, so no M names as I don't want that to be a thing. Names on our list that we like but aren't sold on are Harrison, Clark, Everett, Oliver. Any suggestions?

@pinkarmadillo: I actually really like Beau, but is it weird to name a kid just Beau and not have it be short for something?
Our last name starts with an S, so I'm not crazy about names that end in S because saying the whole name is kind of awkward.

@Jennibenni: not to me but I live in the south so maybe it's different? It's a pretty common name but I only know one personally. I love a good southern name! My MIL said the same thing though when we mentioned it to her.

ETA: boy names are so hard. We've got two, and if we ever have another I joke that he's going to be named "Baby Boy" or "Pheboe" (Friends fans out there?!

Just a word of advice, the name Oliver is really picking up in popularity. I see it being in the top 10 really soon. That being said, my boys' names are Elliot and Oliver. I love their names, but I don't love the popularity.

I have a friend with an Oliver and Harrison, and I like those two the best of your suggestions. I do think Oliver seems to be very popular. I'll throw my DS's name, Gideon, in the ring! We get tons of compliments and Ive never met another another Gideon.

I have a Harrison (nn harry) so I am partial to it! Our other son in Nathaniel (nn Nate) and I think they go well together. If we had a third we would name him Charlie.
I also love Henry but it's too close to Harry for us to use, but maybe has the same feel. My son also has an Edison in his class which I think is adorable. -
