My good friends mostly have boys so my DD has a lot of play dates with boys. Boys are sooooooo rowdy and run all over the house. My friends are always chasing their DS around and I just sit there with my DD. Haha. Is this the difference between boys and girls? This makes me scared to have a boy!

Lala's best friends are boys. It's really interesting because she totally holds her own with them in most ways... but sometimes they'll out-muscle her for a toy. Still, she'll usually end up with it because she knows she can distract them with something else or pretend that she's not interested, which gets them to give up the toy. Where they are thinking in the moment, she's thinking two steps ahead
I love the boys though. They are so snuggly compared to girls!

When I was pregnant we went to visit DH's cousins who have 2 boys. OMG, they were nuts! They were running around and throwing things all over the place, including towards my belly. I was terrified to have a baby, but I just kept telling myself that LO is a girl and she would be different.

@Mrs. Jacks: yes, the boys have zero attention span! I did not know boys are more cuddly. That is interesting since DD is not cuddly and I always thought girls like to snuggle.
@artbee: I felt the same looking at my nephew while I was pregnant!

Interesting! We have a friend with a toddler boy and he is wild! In general, though, he does have a sensitive nature to him but when he plays, he's very rough.

Charlie is close with a girl around his age (2 years + a few months) and she runs around a lot when they're together. I think the differences are more pronounced when the kids are younger... at least, that's what we've seen so far with our kids!

@Andrea: DH's family also has issues with discipline. Hopefully if we do ever have a boy, we'll be able to tell them no so we won't have that problem.

In general yes boys st a young age are rougher and just a little bit crazy. I have three little boys and a girl. When the boys start going crazy then we go play outside

@artbee: that is what DH said. He blames the parents but I told him it might not be so black and white.

@Andrea: At first I thought it was because they're boys. But then after LO was born we went to visit his other cousins who have 3 boys. Good as gold. I told the mom how surprised I was because the other boys were pretty rowdy, and she said it was all discipline. I get that they're different families, different kids, etc. But I feel like a lot of it has to be discipline.

Boys are sooooooo much cuddlier. One of DD's friends at daycare is so sweet and he chases DD around all day, just trying to hug her or hold her hand.
She tolerates it, but she's generally just not a cuddly kid. She likes her independence, lol.

I don't have any little boys in my life! I know DH and his brother were wild though! My sisters and I were pretty wild too...
Totally see wild children in our future..

Yes boys are wild. LO is only 9 months and we already nickname him "damage"- he is seriously into everything non-stop. When we have play group he and the other boys are always in each others' faces whereas the girls are so gentle!

I honestly think it depends on the child. My niece is definitely less run around than my nephews. But when the 3 of them are together they are a non stop machine!!! And the 3 of them are all snuggly but my niece moreso.
My husband's oldest niece is SO rowdy. She NEVER stops. My nephews are calm compared to her!I think boys might be more of a handful when they are younger but easier when they're teens. Girls easier when they're younger but a handful when they're teens!

@regberadaisy: What's her full name? Our Lala nicknamed herself that. I think her Montessori teachers feel a little uncomfortable with it!
