If your first was breech, was your second as well? And if so, when did they become breech?

Both my pregnancies were breech. First was head down at 18 weeks, then breech after that. Second was breech at 18 weeks and stayed that way

@gotkimchi: Thanks! Just curious. My daughter was head down until 39 weeks and this baby is currently head down at 28 weeks which I know doesn't mean a thing.

Yes, both my babies were breech. I think they were always breech - with my first my midwives had been saying he was head down and I had an ultrasound at 39 weeks and he was breech, but I didn't feel any big movements so I'm pretty sure the midwives were wrong all along. With my second he was breech from at least 34 weeks. From what I understand having one breech baby doesn't make you any more likely to have a second, though. My personal theory about my boys is that the shape of my uterus (I had two surgeries to make it less heart shaped) somehow caused it.

@erinbaderin: Thank you! I have become obsessed about the position of this baby and RCS/VBAC. I had such a great c-section experience with my daughter. Since it's what I know, I would like to just have the exact same thing happen again, BUT... I don't want to have restrictions on lifting her after the c-section or staying away from her longer than I have to. Did you find it hard with your toddler after your RCS?

@ocean81: It wasn't too bad. I was pretty anxious about it, especially because I had a mama's both who wanted to be carried all the time. We started teaching him to climb into the crib from a stool, and I would just sort of slide him in and out, and we told him I couldn't carry him down the stairs for a bit. My husband was home with us for three weeks, though, and we kept B in daycare, so that definitely helped, and also I definitely did not follow the restrictions. The hardest part was being away for two nights but I think that was harder for me than him.

@ocean81: I had no problems after the rcs and felt fine. I think I avoided lifting my daughter for a few days, meaning bending over and lifting her up but was fine carrying her or holding her if someone handed her to me or if she climbed up on a chair

Baby #1 flipped breech at 38 weeks 4 days. (Such a stinker!) Baby #2 was a repeat cesarean at 39 weeks and was still head down at that point.

My first was breech (don't know how long, they discovered it at 37 weeks but had been telling me all along he was vertex like @erinbaderin:). My 2nd and third were vertex but I had C sections with them. The RCS was a great experience just like my first one was! I did want to TOLAC but the second one was still hanging out and comfy at 40 weeks and since success rate of TOLAC starts dropping as soon as you hit term, I just went for the RCS.

@My Only Sunshine: @shellio: Thank you! You both made me feel better about an RCS if I don't go into labor on my own by 40 weeks (assuming the baby isn't breech). I signed a consent form for trial of labor, but I didn't realize success rates start dropping once you are to term. Add that to the list of other reasons why I don't want to go past my due date! The closest they were able to get to my due date is 39+3.
@gotkimchi: Thank you! My recovery was easy the first time, so it's nice to hear about recoveries the 2nd time.
@erinbaderin: Thanks! I'm also guessing being away from my daughter will be harder for me than for her. I can cry thinking about it! My mom already told me they will spoil her when we're gone
