Who has read this book? I'm not really into reading baby books at all...but for some reason this one seemed intriguing to me. I am about halfway through and I have found it fascinating so far.

I feel like I have the gist of it from the press coverage a while back. I like some concepts for sure and have done the same thing in my parenting.

I read it and enjoyed it, I felt like some of the press coverage was negative and some people took it as a suggestion that the French have a superior way of raising their kids so I wasn't sure what I was going to think( I spent a year there after college and there were a number of things that bugged me about the way they raise their kids and a lot of things I liked.) I felt like it was a neat peek into the way they some French people raise their kids and I liked some of the ideas. Our library had it classified as "essays" not as a parenting how to book which I think is better than comparing it to a book on child rearing written by an expert.

I've read it - most of it sounded pretty sensible, and I wouldn't call any of it "extreme." I found the section on sleep to be really comforting - so worried about being a walking zombie come November! I figure that if French babies can eat on a schedule and sleep through the night after the first few months, then there's hope for my American baby.
