We are buying a second car and need a second car seat. DS will most likely be in both cars everyday (I will do daycare drop off and DH will pick up), so we want a high quality seat. We have a Britax Marathon now. We are considering another Britax seat (with click tight, seem so much easier!) or the Nextfit.
Comfort is important too. DS is not generally a fan of being in the car seat, so if there is a magic seat that makes babies happy in the car I'd love to hear about it

We ha e a britax advocate clicktight and it is amazing. Super comfortable for my 2.5 year old rear or forward facing and so easy to install. I highly recommend a clicktight seat!!

We debated the same seats and ended up with a Clicktight Advocate. The installation is SO easy. We need to use a seatbelt to put it in the center position in our car (no center LATCH) so that was the deciding factor. It seems very comfy for LO, and although my DH complains about the straps, I don't think they're any worse than the Nextfit.

I also love the clicktight feature, especially for a convertible or harness to booster seat. At some point, you will not be able to use LATCH to secure your seat and will have to move to seatbelt and this feature on the Britax is best in class.

I didn't vote... I'm torn. The nextfit is way more comfy than the Britax seats. So there's that. But while I mostly love my nextfit, the sides are super high and in our Camry, getting her in/out is a PITA. If I could get any seat now, it would be the Graco 4Ever. I also have a Graco clone (Size4Me) and she seems to like it. We use that in the Camry now and it's easier. The Nextfit will be saved for our second car that we'll buy in a few months, which will be larger (small SUV or mini van) so I hope the high sides will be less of an issue. Cost is also a play I'm sure- I don't know the difference between the two Britax so I'm not sure why you'd pick one over the other, and since I don't know your car, I don't know how you'd like the Nextfit.

We chose the nextfit because it fits better in our small car.If the baby decided to make her entrance could you maybe help us out? I'm kinda panicked...the family that is supposed to watch him is going to be out of town from thursday-sunday Lo has always been very cozy in it and it installs really easily. No complaints!

@CakeLady: is your Lo still RF? How much longer do you want to, if so?
We got the Nextfit before the click tight seats came out, and I really like it. I like that it has a very high rf limit for height and weight. The complaint I have heard about the Britax seats is that kids often outgrow the height limit for rf earlier than some parents prefer. But I haven't looked at the new ones at all. I would have more seriously looked at the click tight ones if they had been available though.
I agree with @kjpugs: that the sides are kind of high on the nextfit, which was an issue with our sedan but is fine in our compact SUV.

@Foodnerd81: the new clicktight have a super long rf height limit. They can rearface all the way til their head is 1 inch below the extended headrest. That's one reason we got a clicktight. My lo is 99% for height!

@yellowbird: oh wow! When we get a second car or car seat I'll definitely look into them then. The latch install is really easy wth our Nextfit, but our old car didn't have latch and we will eventually reach the latch weight limit anyway. The seatbelt install isn't terrible but I hear the Britax is way easier.

@Foodnerd81: LO is 8 months, but has been in a convertible seat since 4 months. He is a big kid (tall and sturdy) and was just getting smooshed in the infant seat. He'll stay rear facing until at least 2 and preferably until he reaches the RF height/weight limit.
Both options seem really good. I love how easy the install is for the click tight, but it sounds like Nextfit might be comfier? Maybe I will try and take a look at both in person.
Our new car will be bigger than our current car (a Prius), probably a small SUV. So hopefully either will fit well.

We just bought the Marathon Clicktight and my DH jokingly refers to it as the "Cadillac" of carseats. LO sprawls out and seems to really enjoy the space. We were having the same issue of him seeming smooshed in the infant seat and he is a much happier kid now. He's 31 inches long at 13 months, with a very long torso, and it looks like we have plenty of room to grow.
