Ok, so are you familiar with the LATCH weight restictions?

With a Britax seat, when your kid is 40 pounds, you must use a seatbelt to install the seat, you can not use LATCH. I don't know what the rules are for the Diono brand. Britax has a super easy way to use the seatbelt to secure the seat, it basically goes behind the back rest, under the padding. How does the Diono install and what are the weight limits for using LATCH?

@Weagle: I think there are two sets of guidelines, one is vehicle specific, the other is seat specific. I've checked on Car seats for the littles, when your LO is 40 pounds and in a Britax seat, you need to go to seatbelt install. I chose to use the lower of the two limits.
I have no idea where the Diono seats fall, as I have two Britax seats myself.

@bunnylove08: I looked here, using the car seat manufacturer guidelines, not the vehicle. Looks like it's 48 pounds weight of child.

I have a Toyota. If you look at the vehicle guidelines, it says they defer to the seat manufacturer. I have Britax, they say 40 pounds, weight of child. Not sure if you would come to the same conclusion or not knowing these bits of info?

@looch: I think so. I think the point I'm trying to make is that these numbers could change this year for both cars and car seats to reflect new guidelines. So, it's something to think about if one seat is easier to install with a seatbelt than the other is.

I think the only difference btwn the rxt and 120 is the headwings.

We've never owned britax seats, but I find the dionos very easy to install. They have the superlatch connectors that I find much easier than the normal latch buckles. We haven't done a seatbelt install, but it goes through the same tunnel path at the bottom of the seat that the latch band does, it's simple enough.

The radians are narrower profile than a lot of other seats. We've had them installed on both sides of the backseat and I sat in the middle comfortably in a number of different vehicles. If you want to put one in the middle, you will either need to make sure your vehicle has middle seat latch anchors (many only have them on the sides) or will need to do a seatbelt install for the middle seat anyway.
