I need help! DD still has some time in her infant car seat but I wanted to grab a convertible I find one sale. Two days ago I found the Britax Advocate 70-G3 on NoBetterDeal for $213 (!!!!!) so I jumped on it right away. I had also had my eye in the Diono Radian RXT because of its rave reviews and that it will the only car seat I need for DD since it coverts to a booster too. Can anyone give any advice on Britax vs Diono?

I asked this on my facebook. Here are some answers I got:
A friend of mine said she has chubby kids so they are more comfy in the britax, but on the other hand, you can get 3 radians across a back seat, apparently. The radian looks less comfy, but it has memory foam so it actually is really comfy. The radian can fold flat for storage or travel, for example if you are going on a train. The kids can climb into the radian easier on their own (when they are older).

@cvbee: Hmm those are all good pluses for the Radian! I do like the fold flat feature and that it had a smaller footprint. Which one are you leaning towards?

We got a Britax Marathon for our eldest daughter a few years ago. When DD 2 needed a convertible, our eldest went into the Radian RXT and DD 2 went in the Britax Marathon... so we are currently using both carseats. The Radian has a ton of pros that have already been mentioned. For us, I like the most that it's narrow compared to other seats. This is important when you have 2+ kids riding back there. I also liked the high maximum weight limit it has for rear-facing and the true side impact protection. It is also extremely sturdy, made of steel. The only con, to me, is that it's pretty heavy. But we don't travel with it anyway (we have separate travel carseats), so it's not a big deal to us.
The Britax is great too though. I like how comfortable my 16 month old is in it, since she takes quite a number of car naps. But it is wide in my car... In the middle position, it doesn't allow for another person to use the seatbelt next to it (the Radian fits next to it on one side, but no one can sit on the other side). Eventually we are going to get a 2nd Radian RXT to replace it.
Britax just came out with a new carseat that has similar features to the Radian RXT. It's not as narrow though.
I would suggest going to a store and trying out the carseats with you car and your LO. A local store let us try before we buy. It helped with making the decision.

We are considering either the Diono Radian, or the Clek Foonf car seat. The Clek foonf is new to the market, but has a lot of awesome features. We might use my DH's Christmas bonus on it because it is incredibly expensive.

We ended up with the diono radian...don't plan on having 3 kids but there is always that chance. Like pp posters mentioned we like that it is super sturdy and has a super high weight limit. You really can't go wrong with either one...both are great carseats

@NYCaliMama: I will have to take a trip to BBB and try them out but the narrow profile is huge - we frequently have other people in the car and put DD in the center so the Advocate will most likely have to be returned. It's 3.5" wider than the Marathon too!
@cvbee: Most of my mommy friends also have Britax too! But I'm strong leaning towards the Radian now since cant afford to lose one seat in the rear if Britax will block the seatbelt.
@MsMini: Wow the Clek seat looks really cool! I'm reading up on the features and an intrigued. And it is so pretty and clean looking!!!! Let me know what you think of it if you end up buying it!

We looked at both and it just ended up tht we couldn't afford the radian bc we needed 2 (one for my car one for my husband).
I believe they are both similar in safety with metal bars and side impact and high rear facing weights.
The things I heard as differences where
britax has a lower shell so taller kids outgrow it faster
Britax is wider, bad if you need more across the bak seat
Britax doesn't go to a booster or fold. -
