I'm from Ontario and planning a day trip to Walden Galleria/Military Rd Outlets in a couple of weeks. What are some must hit maternity/baby stores in the area?
Any tips would be super helpful!

Last time we were there we went to Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us just to look at things. I picked up some maternity clothes at the Motherhood Maternity that is by the Galleria and at Macy's.
The new stores at the Niagara Outlets were supposed to include a maternity store... may be worth checking out!

@loki: I went a month ago... but for a long weekend so we could bring back $800 each. We got our crib and mattress there from walmart and buy buy baby. The crib I ordered to a store. the mattress just picked up on the day with a 20% off coupon. Buybuybaby has a great selection of stuff but i'd watch the prices now since the CDN $ sucks and if it's a day trip you might get nailed with duty and taxes.
The maternity selection was as bad or worse than the stores here (old navy, gap and mootherhood maternity) and the prices weren't much different. I did get some honest diapers from buybuybaby/target and a few other things.
I'd just look on google maps for the nearest babies r us, buybuybaby etc to where you're going. I know you can only get the rock'n play in the US (not sold in canada) so if you want one of those get it there. Also breastpumps are about $100 cheaper, most of the other stuff is about the same or by the time exchange rate is considered it's not worth it.

@loki: I don't know what your baby clothing "style" is, but there's supposed to be a Janie and Jack outlet store somewhere in/near Niagara. Buuutttt...they just had their black friday sale (30% off everything, with an additional 20% off coupon you could stack), so I'm not sure how the prices at an outlet would compare.
You have more access to Joe Fresh baby clothes in Canada, and I love those!

Be ware of bringing some things over. My parents bought DD1s crib over and got held at the border for six hours because the crib wasn't approved by Canadian standards. Car seats aren't allowed either. I've heard horror stories of people getting major fines and then getting investigated for child endangerment. Crazy.

@oliviaoblivia: ok this terrified me, i just ordered a stroller/travel system and had it shipped to a brokerage! that was the reason for our trip so i could go down and pick it up!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhh....
@Banana330: i always plan on declaring & paying duty so i only purchase if it's cheap enough to make it worthwhile.

@loki: Ya car seats are a no no... strollers are fine. We had no issue with our crib.. just said what we were bringing through and they waived us through.

@Banana330: omggg i had no idea. even if the car seat/system is sold in canada? it's a graco... i guess i have to see if it has that safety mark. i never even thought of this and just assumed it would be fine since it's sold up here! ahhhh. i already ordered it so i dunno to do!

you'll just have to see when you get it if it has the symbol on it. if not ship it back..
I had heard the car seat thing before.. but from what I've read lots of people are surprised by it. There's quite a few banned/restricted products allowed in the US but not Canada.

@Banana330: well i'm glad to find out now. the issue is i'm having it shipped to a brokerage so i'll be in the the US when i pick it up. if it doesn't have the symbol i can take it to a store to return it EXCEPT we bought it on my mother in law's US credit card!!! so i think she'd need to be with me with the card, which is not an option. what a mess

@loki: you might be able to get store credit, just explain it was a gift... or sometimes they can credit direct to the card without it there..

@loki: is the stroller system from a store in buffalo? I hope you can at least get store credit that you can use while you're there!

@oliviaoblivia: i just ordered it online and had it shipped to a brokerage. i reeeeeeally don't want a store credit because i don't need to make any other big purchases. i contacted babies r us... we are calling local stores to get them to pull the boxes and see if the national safety mark is on it. if not, it seems they will give me a refund... phewf.

Thanks for filling me in guys... i'm feeling so horrible right now for not knowing this... but much better than finding out at the border! ah!
