So, I'm super sensitive to bug bites and usually just think about mosquitos and i have bites. Well, i wore my little bug fan and didn't get any mosquito bites, but darn if I didn't get more chigger/red bug bites. I have two along my bra line and they are driving me nuts. Luckily, the other ones that were near my panty lines have stopped itching as much. That was interesting trying to discretely scratch those.
Do you get bug bites?

I get them because I don't like to wear repellant. If you dab ammonia on the bite, it stops itching! It's awesome

@mrs. bird: I need to do that. I'm dying here. I'm such a baby and I know that I am sensitive. I wear the Off clip on fans and it's great for mosquitos, but doesn't (apparently) work on chiggers. My husband doubted that I would actually have them since you really need to be closer to woods, but he has now since realized that if I step outside, they will get me.

yuck, was gona do a post on this, because i think there's a mosquito in our house and i'm getting bitten up right now!
although there's no swelling and i'm just itchy... blehhh..
i am def prone to bug bites, and def scratch/pick too! i need to quit that bad habit.

@mrsjyw: I'm just rubbing the top of my bites right now and when Hubby catches me, he is like "stop scratching!" I'm totally being mature by responding, "I'm not scratching, I'm rubbing."
I would be eaten alive if we had a mosquito in the house. I once got a mosquito bite and it was surrounded by chigger bites. My ankle swelled up so much. It was awful.

Mosquitos love me. I have anti-itch spray in my purse.

Try putting nail polish on them. It will suffocate the chigger and stop the itching.
DH also recommends Vaseline or liquid band aids. Or neosporin or if all else fails a hot bath with some kinda soap.
But the nail polish has always worked or me.

I get mosquito bitten all the time and I'm terrible for scratching at them. I can't resist, it's too darn itchy not too!

i am terribly allergic to mosquito bites - so EVERYTIME i step outside in the summer (even for 5 minutes to let the dogs out in the yard to pee) i HAVE to wear bug spray. i have bug spray stashed everywhere - in my house, in my car, at my in-laws, etc etc. My bites swell to the size of silver dollar pancakes and last about 2 weeks. It's terrible!!!! That is really the only thing i hate about the summer time, and we have so many mosquitos in my area!

Ugh, I'm so sorry! I got chiggers once or twice when I was younger (my grandmother lived in the hill country)...all around my ankles and stomach. No bueno.
I second the nail polish (I always used the clear stuff), DH seconds the Vaseline.

I dont spend much time outside so I rarely get bug bites.

I am so sensitive to bug bites, and bugs seem to love me. For the last 3 years we're been living in the SF Bay Area, and the dry mild weather seems to not be very attractive to mosquitoes. It is so awesome to be able to eat dinner outside on a summer evening without being swarmed by bugs. We're moving back to mosquito country later this summer, so I'd better start getting prepared for the onslaught!
